Being aware of values and their internalisation enables an individual to discover previously unknown capabilities and prompts them to act in a specific way. As human emotional experience, values also serve as motives of action. The present study of physical activity in water, was inspired by Scheler’s hierarchy of values and Maslow’s theory of needs. The objective of the study was to get to know the motivation of people engaged in various forms of physical activity in water.
