SIBERIA IN THE CREATIVE WORK OF V.I. SURIKOV (1848–1916)

Abstract
The creative work of Vasily Ivanovich Surikov (1848–1916.) is one of the most prominent place in Russian painting. Historical paintings: "Morning of Strelets 'execution" (1881), "Menshikov in Berezovo" (1883), "Boyarynya Morozova" (1887), "the Capture of snow town in Siberia" (1891), "the Conquest of Siberia by Yermak" (1895), "Suvorov crossing the Alps" (1899), "Stepan Razin" (1906), "the Visit of the Princess convent" (1912) shook the art world, gave a new view in understanding the history and fate of Russia. The great importance of V.I. Surikov as a historical painter, his great mission in the development of the historical genre can not be overestimated, as well as a bright, figurative portrait gallery of his contemporaries. Probably, Russia would not have known The great historical painter V.I. Surikov, if not for his Siberian origin and the sources of his work coming from here. Siberian roots played a huge role in the formation of the artist's artistic vision, in the education of his worldview, psychology, creative orientation.
