Şişli Etfal Eğitim Ve Araştırma Hastanesi Aile Planlaması Merkezine Başvuran Hastaların Tercih Ettikleri Doğum Kontrol Yöntemi Dağılımı

Abstract

Aim: Awareness about birth control methods and their use in our country is increasing every day. In particular, increased use of modern methods, though promising in terms of continuity in the development process in the traditional method, has revealed the need for us to work still on it. In our country, the relevant data is collected at the national level in recent years and the results are evaluated and the necessary plans are made. Methods: In this study, 18 years and older people who attended to Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital Family Planning Center were included. Contraceptive method distribution was evaluated retrospectively according to their age, educational status and number of children. Results: Our study showed that reached the highest rate with 42% of patients 35 years and older. When education levels were examined, primary school graduates were found the largest group with 53%. When the number of children were investigated, two children did have the highest rate of 42%. Taking into consideration of preferred modern contraceptive methods, usage of intrauterin device and usage of condoms were 61% and 10%, respectively. Conclusion: High preference of of traditional methods address the necessity of improvement in education and communication attempts, to spread the family planning services and enhance the knowledge of the community.
