Abstract

In the article reports of the provincial county (counties of assem-blies and councils) were analized. They provide an ability to trace the features of charitable activities of the provincial counties and identify the most important crite-rions and directions of assistance of people who were needed. Also, analysis of the documents can determine the categorical apparatus of the problem and discover such phenomena which peculiars to that era as «private charity», «organized charity», «charity» and so on. The main areas of charitable activities of Ekaterinoslav province county were: assistance to poor and «situational» needed people – those who were in a difficult situation due to certain circumstances; opening of the schools; appointment of the scholarship for the students; supporting the development of medicine. Thus, in a huge array of the office materials of the history of counties, «Reports ... » are particularly important, because they include official documentation of coun-ties, which reflected the main problems the most complete and, directions and re-sults of activity Ekaterynoslav provincial and district counties.
