SPECIAL FEATURES OF TEACHING ENGLISH REASONING WRITING TO LAW STUDENTS BY MEANS OF DISTANCE EDUCATION

Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of the analysis is to study the features of online technologies used to teach English reasoning writing to law students. Methodology. We have applied such general methods of scientific knowledge as dialectical, systemic-structural, formal-logical, methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization, analogy and deduction. Results: We have studied the peculiarities of teaching English reasoning writing to law students by means of distance education. The notion of "distance learning" has been analyzed; its characteristic features have been defined. We have identified ad-vantages and challenges inherent in the distance learning of English reasoning writing and have proposed the ways to solve them. We have also generalized existing open access technologies and their peculiarities for teaching English reasoning writing. Such as blog, video hosting, mental maps, social bookmarking, online repository of presentations, net-working community. The possibility of teaching English reasoning writing to law students through institutionally sup-ported technologiesor Learning Management System has also been examined. We have identified their benefits and application difficulties. Thus, the research explores in detail the principles and architecture of the Moodle e-learning platform, its communication, training and administrative tools such as Forum, Chat, Messaging, Lesson, Glossary, Tests, Wiki, Tasks, Questionnaires, Surveys that allow everyone to achieve the aims and the objectives of distance teaching of English reasoning writing to law students. Originality. For the first time we have carried out the integrated research of online technologies used to teach English reasoning writing to law students. Practical value. The results of the research can be used as theoretical basis for the development of the didactic model of distance teaching of English reasoning writing to law students.
