STAFF EVALUATION AS AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT OF EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT

Abstract

Staff evaluation is a purposeful process in the system of effective management aimed at finding and assessment of relevant knowledge, skills, and other quality characteristics of the staff requirements of the office or workplace. The employees must meet the requirements that apply to their official duties, the content and nature of work and culture of the whole enterprise. Evaluation of staff in the psychological and behavioral sense, contributes to the successful development of the company and also the creation of favorable conditions for career development of the employees. The article deals with the methodological bases of formation of an effective system of staff evaluation. The goals, objectives, principles and methodical approaches to evaluation of staff have been considered, the analysis of the main methods for evaluation of the employees has been conducted. A comprehensive assessment of staff of the company on the basis of a systematic approach in order to improve its competitiveness has been proposed. Comprehensive approach to the staff assessment underlines that the object of evaluation is considered as a whole. In order to create the effective system of staff evaluation it is necessary to follow some rules, such as to inform staff about the assessment and implement appropriate control of this process. Staff evaluation helps to solve managerial and strategic objectives of the enterprise, allows improving the process of staff management, ensures quality control of work, helps the development of an effective system of employee motivation and improves the competitiveness of staff and of enterprise.
