Journal Title: WORLD JOURNAL PHARMACY AND PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 7
Abstract
This study aimed to determine the chemical composition of Tetraclinis articulata (Vahl) Masters (Cupressaceae) leaves essential oil collected from the East region of Morocco. The essential oil was extracted by hydrodistillation of dry leaves and was analyzed by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The total yield of the volatile essential oil was 1.4%. Twenty nine constituents were identified, representing 92 % of the essential oil. The major constituents were camphor (24.21%), α-Pinene (23.77%), bornyl acetate (17.37%), borneol (10.32%), and limonene (5.92%).
