SUSTAINABLE DESIGN - NEW STANDARDS IN SPACE CREATION – A REVIEW OF THE SELECTED STUDENT WORKS
Journal Title: Structure and Environment - Year 2019, Vol 11, Issue 1
Abstract
Sustainable design in architecture is of prime importance due to civilisation, economic, environmental and social factors. Countries both in Europe, and also in other continents, have committed to take measures to limit the degradation of the natural environment. An architect plays a relevant role in creating the surrounding space. Students of the Kielce University of Technology are increasingly more interested in sustainable design, which can be seen in the designs they produce. In the paper, the author presents some students’ works in which standards of sustainable design were successfully applied.

ENERGY CRITERION IN ASSESSING THE CORRECTNESS OF THE STIFFNESS MATRIX FOR NON-STANDARD FINITE ELEMENTS
The paper presents the assessment of the correctness of the stiffness matrix for non-standard finite elements, which are membrane elements with additional, rotational degrees of freedom at a node. When applied to modelli...
EFFECTS OF RTFOT AGING ON SELECTED PROPERTIES OF BITUMEN 50/70 MODIFIED WITH RUBBER AND SYNTHETIC WAX
This paper presents the results and analysis of the study devoted to the effect of RTFOT aging on selected properties of bitumen 50/70 modified with rubber and Fischer-Tropsch synthetic wax. The bitumen used in the tests...
COMPARISON OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THE MUNICIPAL WASTE TREATMENT PLANT IN KRAKOW AND BIALYSTOK
Thermal treatment of municipal waste is a method that has been rediscovered in Poland in recent years. National installations for thermal treatment of municipal waste launched in recent years draw on the experience of pl...
THE INFLUENCE OF CELLULOSE ETHERS ON THE CHOSEN PROPERTIES OF CEMENT MORTAR IN THE PLASTIC STATE
The influence of cellulose ether on the consistency, water retention (WRV parameter) and setting and hardening process of cement mortar is discussed in this article. The composition of researched mortars differed in the...
MODIFICATION OF AUTOCLAVED AERATED CONCRETE WITH RECYCLED MATERIALS
The paper compares the effect of additions such as plastic waste and natural process rejects on physical and mechanical properties and on phase composition of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) products. Two modifiers wer...
