THE ANALYZE OF FRICTION CONDITIONS ON A RAKE FACE WHEN FINISH TURNING ON THE BASE OF CHIP THICKNESS CHANGES
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2010, Vol 232, Issue 4
Abstract
In the paper, the results of the analysis of theoretical equations to calculate middle coefficients of friction on a tool rake face during finish cutting are described. Equations viewed were compared with experimental results. The base magnitude that characterises friction conditions into the cutting zone is uncut chip thickness. Using its values, one may calculate shear angles and friction angles on tool rake face. The proposed method was used to analyse the process of steels 45, R35, 40H, NC6, duralumin PA6 and molybdenum turning with different conditions. Depending on chemical composition and physical-mechanical properties of material machined, using antiwear coatings and cooling conditions, middle coefficients of friction on tool rake face may be decreased from 10 to 20%.

THERMAL ANALYSIS OF THE FRICTION PROCESS OF SLIDING BEARINGS USING A STATISTICAL APPROACH
During the friction processes in a sliding bearing complex, phenomena occur that are included amongst the most difficult and complex problems in tribological studies. Therefore, there is a need for a systematic applicati...

The paper presents an estimation of the usefulness modification of anodic oxide coatings (AHC) on aluminium alloys with molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) for the improvement of the tribological properties of Al2O3 coatings. An...
A GENERALIZED MODEL OF WEAR TRIBOCORROSION
The article attempts to approximate the results of studies of tribocorrosion wear of stainless steel AISI 304 and AISI 420 in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution. The tests were performed in a specialized position of the node model pin...
THE STUDY OF SLIDE BEARING PROPERTIES INCLUDING THE SURFACE TEXTURE GEOMETRY OF A JOURNAL
A static friction during a slide bearing’s start-up appears to be a complicated process. To deal with the phenomenon, the author uses a molecular-mechanical theory of friction. This paper reports the results that show th...
