The conceptual grounds of German historiography of the Holodomor

Abstract

Тhe special study publications of German authors, despite their prominent place in Western historiography about the artificial famine in Soviet Ukraine, has not yet been carried out. This fact determines the relevance of our research and defines its purpose: to conceptual analysis of German historiography of the Holodomor. Рrofessional reports of the Holodomor in this country appeared only in the late 80s of the twentieth century. The research priority for the study this theme belonged to Professor S. Merl. A separate place in German historiography take research famine in Ukraine, carried by H. Simon. The scientist concluded that the Kremlin elite caused combined blow on the peasants as enemies socialization of property, and on national statehood aspirations Ukrainian republic.
