THE DEFINITION OF CHANGE MANAGEMENT AS A BASIC COMPONENT OF CONTEMPORARY ENTERPRISE’S ACTIVITY 

Abstract

The backgrounds of creation of change management have been studiedon the materials of foreign and Ukrainian papers. Thechronologicalanalysisofthedevelopmentofthenotionofchangemanagementhas been drawn through the scientific works of foreign scholars. The emergence of the need in using change management has been studied on the materials of Ukrainian authors. According to the results obtained, the definition was generalized, the place of change management in activities of modern local enterprises has been determined, the author’s definition of rational change management applied in modern enterprises within market activity has been given. As a result the general model of classification of changes has been given. According to the classification, changes can be divided into three types – developmental changes, transitional changes and transformational ones. Each type of changes has been fully charaterisedand the sector it may be applied. The aim of the present paper is to define the concept of change management and its essence regarding Ukrainian enterprises and to determine the role of change management at contemporary enterprises. The study has been carried out through an analysis of scientific papers on the topic. As a result, the generalized definition of change management has been suggested. In conclusion, the author’s generalized definition of change management has suggested. The definition has been formed on the information in the table concerning an analysis of the current approaches to determining the notion of change management and revealing definite disadvantages or incomplete definition.
