The didactic and methodical aspects of the organization of students’ independent educational-cognitive activity at the study of higher mathematics

Abstract

The article is devoted to the questions of the organization of independent work on higher mathematics of first-course students. Taking into account the one of features of higher mathematics - studying of this educational discipline mainly at the first course – the characteristic of students of this age category is given, its distinctive features are marked out. The main reasons of low readiness to independent work of first-course students are considered. Taking into account specifics of the higher mathematics as educational discipline in higher school the main features of organization of independent educational-cognitive activity of students at its study are marked out. The main didactic and methodical requirements to the organization of this activity at various stages of educational process are considered. The role of the teacher in this process is defined. From all aspects of the considered problem the motivational aspect is marked out, considering its role in an adaptation period, considering cognitive motivation as a basis of independent work of the student. The importance of effectively organized independent work for further educational and scientific work of students, and also for their further self-realization in future professional activity is underlined. The conclusions formulated in the article are confirmed by statistical material by results of questioning of students of the considered age category.
