THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TEACHING AS A BASE FOR STUDENTS' SUCCESS

Abstract
The article is devoted to such factor in the development of student success as the teacher - student interaction. The quality of teaching is a significant factor in higher education and has a long-lasting effect. Highly professional teaching affects not only the results of academic achievement, but also promotes the development of the useful life skills. They are very important for students and help reach the ultimate goal of higher education, adapt in society, form the necessary social competence and achieve professional self-realization. One of the evidence of teaching effectiveness is the teacher's ability to create a situation of student`s success. This situation means the creation of such conditions during teaching that give the student possibility to feel satisfied with learning, obtain a positive result, enhance motivation, etc. The experience of successful learning allows the student to develop self-confidence, self-esteem and success in professional careers. In order to study the criteria for assessing high-impact teaching, a group of American scholars attempted to apply the Competing Values Framework (CVF) in educational institutions. It has four quadrants that contain criteria for assessing the skills and abilities of teachers. These criteria allow to explore and evaluate such components of teaching effectiveness as relationships — cultivating a supportive community, high expectations — maximizing every student’s achievement, continuous improvement — adapting and embracing change, stable environment — creating structures and processes. Highly effective educators successfully integrate practices in all four quadrants to improve student learning and are able to create an environment that fosters a sense of belonging, accomplishment, security and enthusiasm
