The Influence of Authority in the Process of Self-upbringing
Journal Title: Studia Paedagogica Ignatiana. Rocznik Wydziału Pedagogicznego Akademii Ignatianum w Krakowie - Year 2017, Vol 20, Issue 5
Abstract
Self-upbringing can be understood as conscious and goal oriented self-management revealed in one’s own activity. The self-upbringing efforts undertaken are expressed in the self-determination of goals that are pursued in their own development, choosing methods, determining values, setting tasks and requirements, and assessing progress. The foundation of self-upbringing indicates the acquisition and acceptance of the ideal/pattern of the “ideal I”, that will be treated as a starting point for reflection and work upon the self, and will guide the individual self-activity at each self-upbringing stage.
