The Overview of Studies on Mimicry

Abstract
The goal of this paper is to overview the phenomenon of mimicry in the context of the so called chameleon effect. It presents a variety of research methods that are used in to analyze this process.Then the personality/situational variables that modify the tendency to mimic are introduced in order to demonstrate various social results of mimicry. In the final part of this part other theories based on similar assumptions are being presented. The limitations of the chameleon effects are analyzed and some suggestions given for future studies that might supplement the present knowledge in the area of mimicry.
