Journal Title: Науковий вісник Південноукраїнського національного педагогічного університету імені К. Д. Ушинського - Year 2015, Vol 106, Issue 3
Abstract
In the article the diversity of existing views on the problematic of facilitation in psychology, pedagogy, philosophy, physiology, psychotherapy is given. It is established that the investigation of human potential was carried mainly through the examining of certain types of potential of a personality (creative, intellectual, personal, adaptive, innovative, self&actualizing, etc.). The review of certain types of facilitation (psychological, pedagogical, therapeutic, rehabilitative, environmental, negative, etc.), stages and specifics of the process of facilitation in the context of a particular activity is given as well. In the given research the phenomenon of facilitative potential through the review of key provisions of the created concept of personality facilitative potential is represented. The article deals with theoretical and methodological issues for the conceptualization and empirical study of facilitative potential of a person as an integral unity and self&actualizing and resourceful constituents, collectively characterized by the degree of expression of value&sense, need&motivational, behavioural, emotional, cognitive and volitional components. Facilitative potential as a manifestation of the corresponding potential of a person could be actualized in the period of conscious activity and can «roll up», become the latent quality, and transform into the potential in those periods when there is no request for assistance in the development of another. Actually facilitative potential, and the opposite quality – inhibitive ability, can be in the potential and actualized state, so that they should be regarded as potential and personal quality. It is shown that nowadays among scientific approaches the most significant, noticeable are existential&humanistic, person&oriented, activity, interactionist and subjective approaches. The advantages of a systematic approach that enables integration of data, obtained by using different scientific approaches in a single system are also considered. It is proved that the working out of the facilitative potential conception of a person allows integrating existing scientific views on the issues of facilitative ability into a single system that contains potential and actualizing features.
