The Practices of the Negative in Contemporary Society / Pratiche Del Negativo Nella Società Contemporanea

Abstract
1.The element from which I would like to start, to begin this phenomenology of the negative, is the indispensability of the category of negation -whatever the meaning one wants to attribute to it. Whether it is assumed in the neutral tone of the judgment of attribution, in the destructive tone of annihilation, or the positive tone of symbolization, the centrality of the negative within human experience remains firm. 1. L’elemento da cui vorrei partire, per avviare questa fenome-nologia del negativo, è l’imprescindibilità della categoria di negazione – qualsiasi sia il significato che le si voglia attribui-re. Che essa venga assunta nella tonalità neutrale del giudizio di attribuzione, nella tonalità distruttiva dell’annientamento oppure in quella, positiva, della simbolizzazione, resta ferma la centralità del negativo all’interno dell’esperienza umana.
