The Role of Optimism and Emotional Intelligence in Achieving Job Satisfaction. Implications for Employee Development Programs

Abstract
The article aims at analyzing the role of stricte psychological factors determining job satisfaction concerning people with social mission jobs. In the management psychology, a special focus has been recently given to the positive organizations. It is related to a relatively new trend of positive psychology. Its followers concentrating on the human traits implicating good quality of life have turned to the aspects of human’s professional life. It results in many theoretical and practical studies on the so called positive organization. So, a well known personal strategy based on human capital formula has been gaining a support of many of psychologists. The article is based on the results of research on factors determining job satisfaction in case of social mission jobs. The authors assume that both optimism and emotional intelligence are positively correlated with job satisfaction and mission perception.
