Abstract

The article is devoted to the Statute of Civil Justice of 1864 and the Code of Civil Procedure of 1895 as models of civil justice in Ukrainian lands, which were the part of the Russian Empire and Austria-Hungary in the second half of XIXth – early XXth century. The author concerns the impact on this process of legal and socio-cultural phenomen as uchas Roman law, tradition of law and others. The author concludes about the importance of self-protection by the state informing of common approaches to fundamental basic ideas of civil justice.
