THEORETICAL BASIS OF FORMATION AND MANAGEMENT OF FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVES

Abstract
The article reveals the essence of gold reserves, their necessity in the modern globalized economy. The structure, level and factors influencing their volumes, methods of their management and characteristics are investigated. The history of the emergence and change of components in the structure of gold and foreign-exchange reserves depending on the state of the world economy in general and national economies in particular is reviewed. The process of forming gold and foreign exchange reserves and ways of measuring their optimal level were also analyzed. The correlation of the structure of gold and foreign-exchange reserves from the development of the country's economy, its external debt and the stability of the national currency has been researched.
