USING OF INNOVATIVE-INFORMATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES WHILE TRAINING VETERINARY SURGEONS

Abstract

Introduction. Improvement of quality of higher education is determined by using new methods and means of teaching, which intensify the educational process. One of the means, which is widely used for the intensification of educational-perceptional students’ activities, is information technologies. It’s proved by scientists that wide introduction of information technologies can increase the effectiveness of active teaching methods during lectures, seminars, and practical and laboratory classes and also on a stage of students’ self-training. Despite of a large number of scientific works which are dedicated to the use of information and communication technologies in the training process of future specialists for professional activities, the questions of using information and communication technologies in future veterinary surgeons’ teaching are not developed enough. The enlightening of these questions was the purpose of the conducted researches. Methods. During the research process an analysis of information sources on modern computer innovative technologies for higher education was carried out. Such sociological methods as surveys, observations and questionnaires were used in order to get data in reference to use of information technologies in the training process of veterinary surgeons. Results. According to the received data, teachers of the department of veterinary obstetrics and surgery are familiar with modern computer technologies. In the process of teaching veterinary surgery, such new technologies as multimedia presentations, educational videos, interactive online courses, computer testing and control systems are used. Students of the faculty of veterinary medicine use social networking sites as a source of receiving professional knowledge and also for exchanging educational information. Discussion. Further development and implementation of new information technologies in the educational process reveals ways of improvement of the veterinary medicine specialists’ professional training.
