Ways of increasing and improving physical training of future officers of the National Guard of Ukraine on the basis of the using of physical exercises of functional multiathlon (crossfit)

Abstract

This article is devoted to the possibility of using the system of functional multiathlon (crossfit) in the physical training of future officers of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine (further – NANGU). The National Guard of Ukraine (hereinafter – NGU) only begins its way in times when the country is in a state of war. The experience of combat operations has shown that the success of the combat task depends largely on the level of special preparation, high organization of military personnel. In this preparation a significant place occupies a functional physical training, aimed at improving the qualities of the soldier and the combat skills necessary for him in the performance of a specific task. Physical training of servicemen, regardless of permanent deployment, e.g. on the base or in areas of combat operations, should be aimed at supporting their physical readiness to perform suddenly emerging combat tasks and psychological rehabilitation. It should be conducted taking into account the conditions of the situation and security of military personnel. Functional training is a kind of sport where basic, energy-intensive movements are used, which are combined into a continuous set of exercises, using own weight, free weight and cyclic work. It is based on the principles of functional variability and unpredictability of the performed physical tasks. As a result, it prepares a serviceman for any sudden tasks. This kind of sport was developed to improve the ability of a person to perform any physical tasks in real life, development of cardiovascular performance, endurance, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, dexterity, balance and accuracy. Maintaining a certain level of special and general physical preparation, skillful and fast movement in different areas and skillfully overcoming artificial and natural obstacles, effective implementation of techniques of melee combat with and without weapons, maintaining readiness for significant and prolonged physical and mental stresses are the purposes of this kind of sport. Functional multiathlon is a mean of increasing the body’s resistance to the adverse factors, strengthens the nervous system. It promotes coherence of motor and vegetative functions during self- physical training. The intensity is chosen in response to a feeling of well-being after the training. A serviceman must control his state of health, pulse, fatigue and other indicators before and after the training. The regulation of physical activity during the week should be related to the tasks. In addition to tactical skills, servicemen must be in a great physical form, because the war is a difficult and exhausting thing. Given that a sedentary lifestyle is a common problem today, the overwhelming majority of servicemen need in qualified help in order to bring themselves into the necessary physical form. In common life, people may not even notice their lack of physical development, but in the context of combat situation, the lack of physical training is critical. That is why systemic changes in the approach to the physical training of future officers of the NGU now stand in the first place.
