Journal Title: Держава та регіони. Серія: Економіка та підприємництво - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 103
Abstract
One of the main problems of domestic enterprises to date is not the competitiveness of goods or services in world markets. The level of competition in the global market is so high that, without studying and analysing competitiveness in a globalized world, it is impossible to become a leading enterprise; therefore, it is necessary to develop the ways of domestic enterprises’ entry to the level of international standards. It is determined that the competitiveness of an enterprise is the ability of an enterprise to create, produce, and sell goods and services, whose price and non-price qualities are more attractive than comparable products of competitors. The competitiveness of the enterprise can be formed only within a group of companies belonging to the same industry or those that produce substitute products. It is proved that the competitiveness of the company’s products is the basis for the formation of the competitiveness of the enterprise and plays a key role in the formation of the country’s competitiveness. In turn, the competitiveness of the enterprise is formed under the influence of various groups of factors. Their influence can be as positive, which increases the level of competitiveness of the enterprise, and the negative that reduces it. A comparative characteristic of the company’s competitiveness on the micro, meso, and macro levels is given. The analysis of the global ratings of competitiveness of the countries of the world, in which Ukraine took the 81st place in 2018, is carried out. The experience of the leading world enterprises that are a part of the world ranking of the 500 most influential transnational companies in the world (Fortune Global 500), which the Forbes magazine annually publishes, is considered. It was determined that in 2018, the top 10 companies included three American and Chinese companies and one company from England, Germany, the Netherlands, and Japan, indicating a high level of competitiveness of these companies in the global space. So far, no domestic enterprise has fallen into this rating, requiring increasing the level of competitiveness to the global level. Analysing the aforementioned ratings and criteria for the entry of enterprises to them, the ways of increasing the competitiveness of domestic enterprises at micro, meso, and macro levels are determined.
