WEAR RESISTANCE INCREASING OF THE PARTS RESTORED BY ELECTRIC CONTACT SURFACING
Journal Title: Проблеми тертя та зношування - Year 2016, Vol 72, Issue
Abstract
The wear resistance of the parts that were restored by the method of electric contact surfacing with heat-treated steel tapes is considered in the article. A comparative evaluation of wear resistance of the samples that were subjected to preliminary chemical and thermal treatment, as well as the samples with subsequent heat treatment, is presented. It is found that the samples surfaced with tapes, that were subjected to complex chemical and thermal treatment, has the highest wear resistance, as well as the high hardness. It is shown that superficial layer, obtained by this technology, consists of the high hardness separate inclusions, which are surrounded by the solid solution. The influence of technology of the chemical and heat treatment of steel tape on the micro fragility and plasticity of the surfaced layer is considered.
