Abstract
Social issues constitute an important component of the Roman Catholic Church. And so it is also in the science of Benedict XVI. This science is the Encyclical Deus caritas est of 25 December 2005 and the Encyclical Spe Salvi of 30 November 2007. The basis of social life – in terms of Benedict XVI – is “faith”. Faith is realized through “love”. And this is “justice”. And in this the Christian “hope” is expressed.
