Abstract

The article describes the construction of engine intake system and basic problems associated with it. The presented research was conducted with the use of computer techniques simulations of drive cycles were carried out to determine the most commonly used engine speed range for different driving styles and drivetrain types. PIV technique was used to analyze air distribution in the intake manifold. Differences in air flow through the throttle for different throttle angles were shown along the effect of manifold shape on said differences.
