Abstract
Umbilical cord prolapse is a condition that directly threatens the life of a fetus. It requires immediate transportation of a patient to the nearest hospital. It is a well-recognized obstetric emergency when the umbilical cord descends past or alongside the presenting fetal part following the rupture of the amniotic sac. The article discusses the signs and symptoms, as well as the management of pregnant patients with umbilical cord prolapse. A case of a woman with umbilical cord prolapse in the 32nd week of pregnancy has been presented.
