Zmiany w ichtiofaunie dorzecza Słupi w okresie od 1998 do 2009 roku
Journal Title: Roczniki Naukowe Polskiego Związku Wędkarskiego - Year 2013, Vol 26, Issue
Abstract
The fish fauna of the Słupia River system was monitored in the same 65 sites in three sampling periods: 1998–1999, 2003–2004, and 2008–2009. The number of identified fish species was 25 in the first and second and 28 in the third period. The number of recorded fish individuals was similar in the first two periods but increased to a value that was about twice higher (12478 specimens) in the third period. However, the increase in the third period was due almost exclusively to huge numbers of roach captured in one and bleak captured in two sites located close to lakes. As regards absolute abundance, other dominants in the whole system were Salmo trutta, minnow, and bullhead in all the periods and their numbers little varied from period to period. Significant changes in the abundance of some species were recorded between the distinguished sampling periods. As regards dominance in the whole Słupia system, several species considerably declined between the second and third periods but this was due only to the extraordinary numbers of bleak and roach recorded in the third period. To much surprise, there was little change in the occurrence stability of each species both between the first and second, and second and third periods in the whole system.
