A study of indicators of expected operational losses in the extraction of block raw materials with disk stone cutting machine

Abstract

Each technology of production of block natural stone has its advantages and disadvantages. Promising areas of improvement of block stone mining technology is the improvement of non-explosive technologies that do not affect the development of man-made cracks. The article investigates a new technology of block stone mining, which is based on the use of disc machines in combination with a diamond-rope machine. The information about the proposed technology of block stone mining in the literature is near-zero. However, due to a number of advantages, this technology has the prospects of wide distribution. This technology is used in China in conditions of mountainous deposits. In Ukraine, this technology is beginning to be tested, however many aspects remain unexplored. In the publication, a study of indicators of expected operational losses of raw materials in the production of block raw materials with disk stone-cutting machines was conducted in order to compare with existing mining technologies. This technology involves extraction of natural stone with subbenches of 1.2-1.3 m height, which excludes the operation of filling up the monolith. This significantly affects the man-made losses of natural stone, which occur as a result of dynamic loads. The offered mining technology requires less technological equipment by eliminating the operation of filling up the monolith. In most cases, the blocks are obtained sautéed on at least two sides, which improves the quality of block raw materials. The publication found that new extraction technology is more effective compared to the current technology of mining of Pokostivske Deposit of granodiorites on «Maksimova hora» area.
