CRIMINAL PROCEDURAL GUARANTEES OF THE RELIABILITY OF WITNESS TESTIMONY

Abstract
In the article, as one of the subtypes of criminal procedural guarantees of the establishment of objective truth, the guarantees of reliability of the testimony of the witness are given. It is determined that such guarantees are intended to create conditions that, on the one hand, inspire the witness to give true testimony of circumstances relevant to criminal proceedings, and, on the other hand, provide for their objective verification and assessment of the correspondence with events that have actually occurred. These guarantees include the legal status, the immunity of the witness, the guarantees of the provision of legal assistance to the witness of a lawyer, the responsibility of the witness, the safety of the witness, the prohibition of wrongful influence on the witness, the procedural form of interrogation of the witness, the normative determination of the requirements for assessing the testimony of the witness for their reliability.
