DETERMINETION OF CONTACT AREA OF THE SPHERICAL INDENTER WITH SURFACE OF DETAILS IN BURNISHING

Abstract
The problem of determining contact area of spherical indenter with the surface of a part dur-ing burnishing is solved in this article. It made possible to provide a high sensitivity for calculat-ing the stress-strain state and residual stresses, for example, repited burnishing. A refined model has been developed and substantiated for calculating the process of burnishing by a finite-element method, which allows determining all components of the tensor of active and residual stresses at various times of burnishing. The results of the calculation of the distribution of con-tact stresses on the contact surface of the tool and part are also shown. This makes it possible to more accurately assess the friction conditions on the contact surface, which is necessary to control the modes of interaction between the tool and the part.
