DEVELOPMENT OF PRESCHOOLERS’ SOCIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN THE SYSTEM OF THE MODERN PARADIGM OF PRESCHOOL EDUCATION

Abstract
The research attention is drawn to the resources of preschool education, in particular to its preschool constituent, in the development of the child as a subject of social action. Based on the analysis of the scientific foundation in which certain aspects of the problem regarding senior preschool children’s social development are reflected directly or indirectly, the conclusion about the basic significance of the formation of the child's social skills and abilities has been made. In this regard, the author also specifies the scientific status of the construct «social skills and abilities of the senior preschool child» against the background of the similar concepts − sociality, socialization, social competence, etc. As a result of the analytical work, the validity of the conclusion that it is the formation of the preschool child's social skills and abilities that turns out to be the precondition for the success of his / her developing as a subject of social action is substantiated in the article. This phenomenon is the primary basis for the development of other personal traits which influence social qualities, peculiarities, characteristics of the senior preschool children. Competent development of the preschool child’s social skills and abilities is considered to be the priority in higher education as the most important stage of professional training targeted to the future teachers of pre-school educational establishments. Both the methodological and theoretic-methodological foundations for the development of the preschool teachers’ pedagogical strategy in the aspect of their readiness to successfully develop pupils’ social skills and abilities are substantiated in the article. This condition is significant at the stage of professional training targeted to the future teachers in higher school. In the article, considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the educational program «Sure Start» (2017) as the basis for the professional activity of the teacher of preschool educational institutions in the aspect of the development of senior preschool children’s social skills and abilities. It appears to be the issue of the novelty within the paradigm of preschool children’s preschool education.
