Діагностика сформованості громадянської ідентичності української молоді [Assessment of the civic identity of Ukrainian youth]

Abstract
The article analyzes the meaning and main components of the concept of "civic identity". The author discusses the criterial basis for the formation of civic identity as well as some problems related to uncertain civic identity and its main varieties and characteristics. The article describes different approaches to the civic identity assessment and presents his civic identity assessment technique, which was successfully tested using mathematical statistics. An empirical study conducted by the author allowed identifying the following Ukrainian youth civic identity types: patriotic-enterprising, potential migrant and contradictory. The patriotic-enterprising type is characterized by a medium-level self-esteem, which consists in perceiving themselves as important citizens and active agents, by the predominance of idealistic values and seeing high possibilities of self-realization in the country. The "potential migrant" type has a medium-level self-esteem, a medium-level recognition of the importance of material and idealistic values and the lack of possibilities for personal development in the country. The contradictory type is characterized by low civic self-esteem, the predominance of material values over idealistic, and strong motivation.
