Examination of the Relationship Between Professional Self-Esteem and Hope Levels of Teachers Working in Special Education

Abstract
The aim of the research is to examine the relationships between professional self-esteem and hope levels of teachers working in the field of special education. In the study, it was examined whether there is a significant difference between the professional self-esteem and hope levels of special education teachers according to demographic characteristics. In addition, it was examined whether there is a significant relationship between the professional self-esteem of special education teachers and their hope levels. The relational survey model was used as the research model. The research group consists of 228 teachers working in the field of special education. Personal information form, professional self-esteem and hope level scales were used to collect data. As a result of the research, a significant difference was observed in favor of women in terms of demographics of professional self-esteem. In addition, it has been observed that the professional self-esteem of those whose seniority is between 0-5 years is the highest. There was no significant difference according to the type of institution in which professional self-esteem works. There was no significant demographic difference according to the level of hope. It was concluded that there is a moderate relationship between professional self-esteem and hope level.
