Features of the planning system of the city historic area

Abstract
The territory and boundaries of the historic area of Odessa and their main functions and purpose are shown and substantiated. The regulation limit of the development to preserve the historic area planning system is established. The area zones according to their functional and planning integrity as well as the development of the formation of the urban landscape area and the need to protect the historic landscape are defined. The changes in the historical development of the area associated mainly with the functional purpose, patterns and trends in economic, social, engineering and transport development of the urban organism over 100 years are determined. The changes of the Primorsky Boulevard and the whole complex which are important for the city are considered as well as increasing its value as a city recreational, cultural and business center. The architects gave special attention to the use of local materials in the construction of the historic area of the city and the features of the climatic conditions. The used materials are mainly limestone, shell rock, quartz sand, wood, gypsum and others. The use of local building materials is not only cheaper building, but due to its thermal properties it also contributed to energy savings.
