Geogrphical differentiation of the European countries in terms of sustainable development

Abstract
Purpose. The geospatial aspects of the current implementation of the sustainable development concept based on the European countries are described in the article. Methodology of research. The objectives of the article implemented by using the following general and specific research methods: theoretical analysis and synthesis of scientific literature for the scientific basis of the problem of sustainable development studying; a statistical method for the characterization of sustainable development statistics indicators in Europe; cartographic method for supporting research of cartographs; ball grading, criteria analysis, and ranking, using calculations and Microsoft Excel Tools. Findings. The author has selected and analyzed the key indicators that reflect the environmental, economic and social dimensions of sustainable development. Practical value. Forty European countries are grouped and ranked in terms of the indicators of sustainable development.
