GRAMATICAL MEANS OF EXPRESSION OF THE CATEGORY OF AFFIRMATION IN THE MODERN SPANISH LANGUAGE

Abstract
The article investigates the grammatical means of updating the category of affirmation in contemporary Spanish. The definition of affirmation as a pragmatic category is conditioned by its universal ability to satisfy the communicative need for the implementation of such linguistic acts as approval, consent, etc. Each language has the means to achieve this communicative goal in the most effective way. The most typical cases of expression of assertion are revealed by such parts of the speech as nouns, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns and verbs. An attempt is made to identify common cases for each part of the speech and the patterns of their manifestation. One of the formal-grammatical features of the affirming sentences is the absence of a particle no and other words with a negative meaning. The most common expression of assertion in sentences is the presence of the particle sí, that is, the affirmative answer. As a rule, the noun is expressed by the answer to the incomplete question. Expressions formed by an incomplete question for a satisfactory answer are supplemented by nouns, proper names or noun phrases that can not be replaced by the form sí. The adjective appears to be often associated with statements in dialogue contexts; some are in the reinforcement of assertion, while others express full assertion. Affirmations, expressed by verbs, are personal in character and thus in the statements they are used in the actual state of the first person. Particular attention is drawn to modal adverbs. These adverbs carry the function of reinforcing the affirmative answer. They take the syntactically independent position in the sentence, but they serve as insert words.
