Abstract
In 2006–2008, the fish fauna composition was investigated at 70 sites of the Rega River and its tributaries (north-west Poland). The study was carried out by a unified electrofishing method. In the whole river system, a total of 8661 individuals were collected, representing 32 fish and lamprey species. The highest stability of occurrence was recorded for migratory and stationary forms of trout Salmo trutta (68,6%), and gudgeon Gobio gobio (57,1%). These two species also dominated in abundance (19,9% and 26,1% respectively). The upper sections of the Rega River and its tributaries were regulated in the past. In the middle course of the main river and lower parts of some tributaries, there were natural streambed areas with varied compositions of fish fauna observed. Only lower sections of the Rega and Mołstowa Rivers are accessible to migratory fish.
