Influence of different factors on the germination of encapsulated somatic embryos of Saccharum spp hybrid var Cuba 87-51
Journal Title: Biotecnología Vegetal - Year 2001, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
With the objective to regenerate plants from sugarcane somatic embryos encapsulated in sodium alginate hidrogel different factors was studied. The addition of coconut water, GA3 (0.5 mg.l-1) and 6-BAP (0.2 mg.l-1) to the synthetic endosperm increased the velocity and germination percentage of somatic embryos encapsulated. The immersion treatment in 50mM solution of KNO3 during five hours improved the encapsulated somatic embryos germination percentage.

Influence of the genotype and inoculation density on the differentiation of somatic embryos of Coffea arabica L. cv. Red Caturra and Coffea canephora cv. Robust
The conditions were established for the differentiation of somatic embryos from cell suspensions in the genotype Caturra rojo (Coffea arabica) and Robusta (Coffea canephora). Cell suspensions with high embryogenic potent...
Control of bacterial contamination in artificial sugarcane seed through early detection methods
The studies for stablishment of artificial seed technology in sugarcane (Saccharum spp hybrido) have not been free of damage produced by bacterial contaminations, principally in the stage before somatic embryos encapsula...
