La educación virtual implementada por las instituciones de educación superior ecuatorianas en la pandemia de la COVID-19

Abstract

This work analyzes operational aspects of the implementation of the virtual educational process in Ecuadorian higher education, in the COVID 19 pandemic. It focuses on the analysis of the circumstances given in the abrupt transition from face-to-face education to a hybrid or online modality, so called, by the Higher Education Council, to continue professional training. It is a bibliographic documentary study, which reveals several limitations of the higher education system to implement the virtual education process in a technical way, considering the necessary technological structure, timely training of academic staff, inclusive participation of students in academic processes, among others.
