Low Grade Appendiceal Mucinous Neoplasm - Two Case reports

Journal Title: Pathology And Laboratory Medicine - Year 2018, Vol 9, Issue 1

Abstract

Mucinous Cystadenoma of Appendix is an incidental finding detected in histopathology specimen of appendix. Low grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm clinically mimics acute appendicitis. It is associated with pseudomyxoma peritonei, ovarian mucinous cystadenoma and colonic neoplasm for which follow up is mandatory. If the specimen is not sent for histopathology, diagnosis can be missed. Two appendectomy specimens clinically suspicious of acute appendicitis were received at histopathology department of Govt. Medical College, Surat and reported as Low Grade Appendiceal Mucinous Neoplasm.
