NATIONAL AND PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF STUDENTS: REALITIES OF TIME

Abstract
Introduction. In modern Ukrainian society patriotic education is of particular importance. The urgency of patriotic education conditioned by the process of formation in Ukraine of a single political nation. Patriotic education of the population aimed at ensuring the integrity, which is the main component of the Ukrainian national idea. The article analyzes the basic concepts and problems of patriotic education young people and discovered its role in society and the descendants considered understanding of patriotic education of modern youth as citizens of Ukraine. Patriotic education is part of the overall educational process of students, whose main objective is the acquisition of young citizens social experience, readiness to perform civil and constitutional duties, inheritance customs and traditions of the Ukrainian people. Methods. The study used the following methods of system analysis of theoretical sources: analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization, studying the best practices and the results of the author's own research for educational activities. Results. The article deals with the problem of patriotic education of students in today's reality, forming young people of high moral ideals, a sense of respect and love for the Motherland. Disscussion. Prospects for future research will be aimed at developing a system of higher education institutions for education in patriotism today's youth, including patriotic thinking, commitment to their national heritage and awareness of its role and place in the world spiritual development, respect for customs and traditions.
