PEDAGOGICAL SUPPORT IN MUSIC EDUCATION

Abstract
The article centers around the issues of pedagogical support, which is regarded as a fundamental factor in the structure of teachers’ psychological competence. The perspective of the education of musically gifted children and adolescents makes it possible to show the specific character of this education, where the individual student-teacher relationship provides an excellent basis for the development of the idea of pedagogical support. The article presents the main areas of teacher-instrumentalists’ psychological competence, pointing to its flexibility resulting from the stage of a student's music education. Moreover, it underlines the important role of the teacher's supportive attitude when musically gifted children and adolescents experience various difficulties that may occur in the process of music education. It also points out the possibilities of supporting the development and education of individuals who are highly gifted in music. Based on the literature, the author systematizes the characteristics, behaviors and skills of a perfect teacher whose attitude conveys the idea of pedagogical support.
