Początki europejskich inicjatyw współpracy w regionie Morza Śródziemnego

Abstract
The article covers the geopolitical role of the Mediterranean, which weakened in 20th century. The changes of the world order after the second world war and the emergence of the new global centres of power fostered the displacement of the mentioned region into the periferries of international relations. The article describes the factors which determine the instability of the southern part of the region and hinder the cooperation between Europe and North Africa. The Author points at the begining of the 70s of the 20th century as a moment of the birth of organized cooperation in the Mediterranean. Global Mediterranean Policy and Euro-Arab Dialogue, the regional initiatives, are the object of analysis.
