SURNAMES OF CENTRAL KHMELNYTCHYNA OF THE XVII–XXI CENTURIES, WHICH ARE MOTIVATED BY THE PERSONAL APPELLATIVES

Abstract

This article describes surnames of Central Khmelnytchyna. Semantic analysis of the studied families is made. Surnames of Central Khmelnytchyna of XVII–XXI centuries are the object of our study. Lexical and semantic features of analyzed anthroponyms are the subject of our study. Lexical-semantic analysis of surnames, which are motivated by the personal appellatives, is the purpose of the scientific exploration. We performed the following tasks: analyzed surnames, grouped them into thematic groups (TG), identified performance of TG. 2788 surnames are analyzed — 23.5 % of the collected material. 7 thematic groups of surnames are detected. The most common are the following thematic groups: «Surnames that are motivated by occupations», «Surnames that are motivated by external signs of people», «Surnames that are motivated by internal signs of people», «Surnames that are motivated by places of origin or residence of people», «Surnames that are motivated by ethnicity», «Surnames that are motivated by relationships», «Surnames that are motivated by mythological, ideological, religious concepts».
