The effect of using cognitive and meta cognitive strategy on creativity level academic achievement of high school students

Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to determine the correlation between using cognition and meta cognition strategy on creativity level and academic achievement of high school students in area two of education in Tehran.The present study is non-experimental research type which is non-correlation research type and analysis of Variance. The statistical universe includes 24106 students of both sex(boys & girls) are studying in high school level in area two of education in Tehran. 10697 students are busy studying. 463 students of this number are studying in Zeinab high school in second grade. The sample group is 120 students who has been chosen randomly in four experimental and control groups. The member of each group in accordance with four factorial design has completed the cognition and meta cognition strategies of Jamal Abedi,s questionnaire. The first and second test group have been also given cognition and meta cognition strategy test. The result of the present research indicates that in the fluency factor and elaboration (creativity) there is a significant difference between these two groups. In cognition and meta cognition in rehearsal strategy a significant difference between these two test groups and control group was reported. In regression analysis, ingenuity factor (creative) educational improvement was predicted. Between cognition and meta cognition strategy, elaboration, semantic strategy has anticipated curriculum improvements. Between comprehension monitoring with fluency factor, elaboration and ingenuity flexibility(creative)and between the elaboration factor, elaboration semantic and fluency factor (creative) correlation is reported. In the present research finding the effect of cognition and meta cognition utilization in curriculum improvement of student creativity factors are approved.
