THE INFLUENCE OF THE CONDITIONS OF INVESTIGATIONS ON TRIBOCORROSION OF STEEL AISI 304 IN SOLUTION OF 0.5 M H2SO4

Abstract

The paper presents the results of tests of tribocorrosion wear of stainless steel AISI 304 in solution of 0.5M H2SO4. The experiments were carried out on a technical stand with a model pair type pin-ondisc. The stand was designed and implemented in the Institute of Machines and Motor Vehicles of Poznań University of Technology. The model system consists of a hard and non-deformable pin, which slides in reciprocating motion on the sample surface, which is made of steel susceptible to passivation. The analysis of the influence of the following factors was the aim of the experiment on the intensity of the decrease of material in conditions of tribocorrosion: nominal pressure, frequency of the stroke of the pin, and the applied potential the diameter of the pin.
