Abstract
The article describes the main theoretical principles of forming and management an insurance portfolio in order to achieve its balance, and ensure the financial reliability of the insurance company. Substantiated and refined the functions and classification of types of the insurance portfolio. Identified optimization measures of the insurance portfolio.
