VASCULAR PLANTS OF THE NORTHERN PART OF VISTULA LAGOON
Journal Title: Biuletyn Instytutu Morskiego - Year 1995, Vol 22, Issue 2
Abstract
The objective of this work was to investigate the changes in vascular plants in the Vistula Lagoon. The coverage and biomass of vascular plants in the littoral zone along the Vistula Spit was analysed basing on aerophotography and on material collected on land in August and September 1994. Comparison of the present state with the state in years 1975-76 and 1952-55 has shown a retreat or even disappearance of some species, i.e. a decreasing trend in biodiversity. Conditions of existence of vegetation growing far from the banks have distinctly deteriorated. Smallest changes are in reed aggregations.
