Optimum marks of porous concrete for walls of civil buildings

Abstract

A wide range of possible values of average density, strength indicators and thermal conductivity determines the efficiency of the use of porous concrete as a material for the walls of residential and public buildings. An increase average density leads to an increase in the coefficient of thermal conductivity and wall thickness under the conditions of thermal protection. At the same time, strength increases and the thickness of the wall decreases from the conditions of bearing capacity. According to the previously developed methodology, which is based on the leveling of wall thickness required by the conditions of thermal protection and bearing capacity, worked out recommendations for choosing the optimal mark for the average density of porous concrete for single-layer bearing walls of civil buildings. External bearing walls of low-rise residential and public buildings with different structural solutions in different climatic conditions of exploitation under the influence of a wide range of loads on overlapping and using different grades of porous concrete were investigated. The main indicator for choosing the optimal concrete type is the total running meter load on the pier between windows, which, depending on the purpose and design of the building, can vary from 5 kN/m to 400 kN/m. According to the results of calculations, the dependence of the optimal brand of porous concrete from the magnitude of the running meter load on the walls for the two temperature zones of Ukraine was determined. Calculations indicate the possibility of using porous concrete for erection of external walls of buildings up to five floors. Developed recommendations allow us to choose a brand of porous concrete according to the table depending on the temperature zone of Ukraine and the running meter on the walls, as well as to determine the desired thickness of the concrete wall of the optimum mark.
